Manatee County Sheriff’s Office “Deputies in our Marine and COPS Rural Units have been training with our new airboat. This GTO Performance Airboats custom-built 16 x 8′, 600 HP airboat with a supercharged engine will be instrumental in search and rescue efforts and allow us to access areas previously difficult to reach. In 2022, deputies were thankful a citizen allowed us to ride on his airboat during flood rescue efforts in Myakka City following Hurricane Ian. We hope we never need to use this boat for flood rescues, but in the event it is needed, it will be readily available. This boat was made possible with the use of forfeiture funds.”
